Growing up, his dream job was special effects for sci-fi feature movies. Devouring comics and magazines, he tried to create zombies masks with kitchen gloves and latex… It didn’t really work. At an age when teenagers waste their time trying to seduce the opposite sex, Patrick Magnin thought better of it. He put his thoughts on paper: sketching monsters, dragons and imaginary landscapes. His talent got him into art school and he ended up with a diploma in Graphic Design. Today at the age of 35, it’s under the name of Drawing Plan that Patrick – either on paper or on a computer – keeps exploring new territories.

Upon printing his first stickers at the tender age of 8, Serge Nidegger immediately knew he would make it his life. After learning the tricks of the trade the regular way, he becomes aware that the only way to keep on printing with passion is to launch his own company, Lowrider. Serge claims to belong to a tradition that goes back to the 60′ printers, and prefers to develop this old school technique rather than to go completely digital. To pull off the trickiest prints he would rather resort to masking film and his swivel knife skills than manipulate vectors with his computer mouse. This experimentation can also be found through Serge’s numerous collaborations with designers, film-makers, rock clubs, art galleries and festivals. He seizes such opportunities to try to push the envelope further. Screen-prints last forever, so let’s make’ em beautiful.

+41 aims to put Swiss graphic design on the map. The collective explores new ways to combine easily wearable clothes and printed and embroidered visuals derived from their graphic worlds.
+41 was set up in October 2001 by Philippe Cuendet, Laurence Jaccottet and Ivan Liechti, three graduate students from Écal (École cantonale d’art de Lausanne) and all members of //DIY graphic agency (www.diy.li). The name +41 is a reference to the international dialing code of Switzerland in an attempt to establish a solid Swiss identity.
One way +41 increases its visual consistency is by controlling the entire creation process. They not only design the clothes, they also photograph the campaigns and create the visual promotions.
To this day, 4 collections have been released. +41 has also collaborated with brands like Nike, Etnies Plus, NSL, 242 and expanded its activities to music publishing via +41 records.
